Golden Gate Bridge’s History

Who does not know the Golden Gate Bridge, the longest suspension bridge in the world. The bridge across the strait of the Golden Gate is almost 2 kilometers long. The two supporting poles have a height of more than 227 meters.

The steel bridge connects San Francisco and the Marin Country. One of California’s landmarks has been functioned as a liaison since May 28, 1937. Many Hollywood production films use the bridge  as backgrounds such as James Bond A View to a Kill, X-Men: The Last Stand, Star Trek, The Book of Eli , Rise of the Planet of the Apes, and Pacific Rim. The red bridge also appears in the animated Hulk and Monsters VS Aliens.

May 27th is celebrated as the ‘anniversary‘ of the bridge. Festive celebrations are always held at the bridge located in San Francisco. Year 2012 and then to the 75th anniversary. Visitors are free to walk and cycle on the Golden Gate Bridge free of charge. To get there visitors can use the Golden Gate Transit (GGT) which can be accessed in downtown San Francisco. On weekends the public transport also serves routes from and to Fisherman’s Wharf.

Toyota Concept Cars for All Mobility in 2017 – 2018

Toyota Concept Cars in Tokyo Motor Show 2017 | With  the aim to provide mobility facilities of all circles, Toyota showcased a number of concept cars that are ready to be marketed in the near future.

“We challenge our impossibility to contribute to a society where everyone can participate and push their limitations physically and socially,” said Toyota Motor Corp (TMC) Executive Vice President, Didier Leroy at the Tokyo Motor Show (TMS) 2017 opening in Japan on Wednesday.

It is in line with Toyota’s initiative inspired by their partnership at the Olympics and the 2020 paralympic games in Tokyo, with the Start Your Impossible tagline or translated as “start with what you think is impossible”.

For that Toyota showed three i-series concept vehicle that allows a car to understand the driver’s emotions and make the car as a partner for humans.

As the main sponsor of the Olympics and paralympic games, Toyota appears to be seriously working on futuristic vehicles inspired by the limited mobility of people due to social barriers and physical disabilities.

Leroy says Toyota wants all people to be able to do and enjoy high mobility as they need, both the rich, the young, and the disabled and elderly parents.

“When all can be free to move, everything becomes possible,” said the former CEO of Toyota Motor Europe.

In addition, Toyota also showcased the concept cars ready to be launch into the market next year for both top and public consumers in Japan.

The concept cars are high-end passenger vehicles, the 15th-generation Crown sedan, the luxury and exclusive 3rd generation Century sedan, the Tj CRUISER crossover and the Sora’s fuel cell vehicle, and the special Japanese Taxi dedicate to welcome the Olympic and Paralympic Games in Japan by 2020.

Toyota plans to start selling mass production versions of Sora by 2018 with the goal of presenting no less than 100 Sora units, especially for the Tokyo metropolitan area, Japan, to welcome the 2020 Olympic and Paralympic Games in the city.

Suzuki e-Survivor Concept: The Electric Version of Jimny

In addition to the new generation Jimny, Suzuki is also preparing the latest concept that exhibited in the event the Tokyo Motor Show in October 2017. Based on the electric vehicle, the concept named e-Survivor will appear as a picture of future products from Suzuki.

The look of the e-Survivor design is made to resemble Jimny with a large grille, box corner design, and round lights. No wonder if this concept car is also called as the electric version of Jimny.

This electric car is formed from the results of some DNA of familiar SUV Suzuki, such as Jimny, Katana, Escudo, and Vitara. E-Survivor has body dimension; a length of 3460 mm, width of 1.645 mm, and height of 1.655 mm.

The size is claimed to be smaller than the city cars, but in appearance e-Survivor has a handsome stature that makes it look bigger.

Although futuristic, but Suzuki tried to keep the impression of a classic in some sectors, ranging from front view to open roof design like the old Jeep. And than to confirm the electric car, shown from the unique design on the wheel, exactly on the rims that is able to remove the blue light.

The interior is made more attractive with a variety of Hi-Tech equipment, such as panoramic screens along the dashboard, to a 3D view of a globe that is useful as a navigation.

Drivers will get information on vehicle details, while the screen on passengers will display more global information.

Unfortunately, until now there has been no certainty about detailed information specifications, electric motors will be used, until the problem of production. But Suzuki makes sure this car comes with advantages in exploring a variety of terrain.
